E. Brooke Whitaker joins InVcap as Senior Advisor with over 22 years experience from the emerging markets of Indonesia, East, West, and South Africa. He brings a wealth of experience to InVcap as an operational expert from a background in PE, consulting and investment. At InVacp, Brooke provides advisory services on fund raising and marketing.
He  has extensive SME operational improvement, general management, restructuring, risk management (financial, strategic, ESG, etc.), and exit experience in  emerging/frontier markets across a wide range of industries (e.g. consumer retail, manufacturing, hospitality, F&B, aquaculture, agribusiness, mining, port facilities, transportation, chemicals, metal, glass, pulp & paper, textiles, trading, cotton, duty free, real estate, and retail).  He has advised on 80+ transactions generating over USD2 billion in exit proceeds with early and expansion/growth stage SMEs and assets throughout Africa, the Middle East and in Asia.  

 
He was formerly an investment committee member and operating partner at VI Corporation, a private investment holding company in Vietnam, and was CEO of one of its portfolio companies, Capital Seaweed, an agribusiness/aquaculture company.  Prior to that, he was a partner at Serasi Capital and director at IDFC Capital, two Singapore-based emerging market-focused private equity fund of funds investment managers.  From 1995 through 2008, he was a senior manager at Arthur Andersen in its corporate finance/emerging markets group and was the Africa Regional Manager based in Cairo, Egypt and Johannesburg, South Africa.  In 2002, he founded Thumos Ltd, a boutique advisory firm focused on providing corporate finance advisory services in emerging/frontier markets.  
 
He has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and a BS in finance from the University of Maryland.
